Before we get started, here’s a map showing the location of each one of these top golf courses in the Las Vegas valley.
1. Chimera Golf Club (Henderson)
Interactive, aerial map of Chimera Golf Club
The Chimera Golf Club at Tuscany was built in 2003 by Ted Robinson Jr. This is an 18-hole desert golf course that is open all year round. It’s a par-72 course, and the full length of the course covers 6,906 yards. The busiest times of the day at Chimera are between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.
This golf course offers some great Las Vegas Strip views, plus you can see Mount Charleston in the distance. It also has a bar and restaurant called Slice 19 Bar and Grill.
Chimera Golf Club Rates: The cost will vary depending on different factors, such as if you are prepaying and if you are a resident of the community or not. The typical range is between $20 and $100.
Location: Formerly known by the name Tuscany Golf Club, this club is located at 901 Olivia Pkwy, Henderson, NV 89011 (google map directions). It’s about a half-hour drive from the Las Vegas Strip to this location.
Pros: This golf club does have carts and clubs available for rent, and there is a golf shop for any additional golf gear you might need. The staff and service here are incredible. There is also a pavilion available for hosting weddings and other large-scale events. If you don’t want to golf, no worries! The restaurant is open to the public, and the prices are actually pretty reasonable.
Cons: No metal spikes are allowed on the course, so you have to make sure your shoes do not include those. Be sure to check the dress code before you go, so you can be sure to follow all their guidelines. Many courses don’t allow certain clothing (such as gym clothes or denim), so it’s important to know what each one allows. No caddies are available for service here, and some groups are only allowed with permission.

2. Cascata Golf Club (Boulder City)
Interactive, aerial map of Cascata golf course.
Cascata is Italian for “waterfall,” which is a fitting name for the scenery surrounding this golf club because there is a 418-foot waterfall that flows down the nearby mountainside. It then turns into a river that flows through the property of the golf course. The river itself goes directly through the course’s clubhouse.
Cascata is an 18-hole golf course designed by Rees Jones and opened in 2000. It’s a par-72 course with a length of 7,137 yards, and its busiest times are between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. People usually spend about 4 to 5 hours on this course. The Tuscan-style clubhouse includes a restaurant (reservations are required) as well as a bar, pro shop, and cigar lounge.
Some notable awards the golf course has received are #2 in “Best Courses You Can Play – Nevada” for the past 7 years in a row, according to Golfweek, and last year they won #4 of “Golfer’s Choice: Best of Nevada” according to Golf Advisor.
Cascata Golf Rates: Prepaying and reserving a time beforehand will impact the cost, but for a group of 2 to 4 players, it will be about $400 to $550.
Location: This course is about a half-hour away from the Las Vegas Strip and is found at 1 Cascata Dr, Boulder City, NV 89005 (google map directions).
Pros: This golf course has a great landscape; there are deep canyon walls on each side that frame each hole and a view of Red Mountain. Caddies are available for service here, and they are required. They also have a space available in the golf clubhouse for hosting weddings and other special events.
Cons: This is something that can possibly be seen as a con, but carts are required on the course – there are no exceptions. When it comes to online reviews, this golf course doesn’t show up as well in terms of service, although people say the food and conditions are pretty great.
Compared to many other golf courses in the area, this course is super expensive. Denim of any kind is strictly prohibited here a well; proper golf attire must be worn at all times.
