Escape rooms, also known as puzzle rooms or real-live escape games, are one of the fastest-growing entertainment trends in the United States. Players or teams are locked inside themed rooms and have an allotted amount of time to find clues, solve puzzles, and figure out a way to escape. Since Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world, it’s no surprise that you can find many top-notch escape rooms in Sin City.
The top eleven escape rooms in Las Vegas are:
- Cuban Crisis from Escapology

- Ultimate Heist from Rush to Escape
- The Cabin from Number One Escape Room
- Red Riding Hood from Number One Escape Room
- The Basement from The Basement
- Gold Rush From The Escape Game
- Lockdown Underworld Escape
- PanIQ Escape Room

These eleven recommendations are hand-picked and highly rated as they all require different skill sets and perspectives to solve the rooms. Depending on your tastes you might want an escape room that has more puzzles, more action, or a bigger story behind it.
Keep reading to find out the information you’ll want to know about each of the featured rooms, such as pricing, time available to complete, how many people you can bring, etc.
I’ll also show you how to find the best discounts on several of the escape rooms in Las Vegas.
What is an Escape Room?
If you’re new to the idea of escape games you may be wondering “what is an escape room?” In an escape game, you’ll find yourself and your companions locked in a room.
The rooms are themed around a storyline and you must solve puzzles and find clues that will allow you to “escape” the room before your time runs out. Most escape rooms will give you 60 minutes to solve the room before time runs out.
Now, let’s take a look at the best escape rooms in Las Vegas.
1. Cuban Crisis from Escapology
You and your team are CIA operatives getting your orders directly from President John F. Kennedy. The Soviet Union has set up nuclear missiles on the island of Cuba that once launched can reach the U.S. mainland in under 4 minutes.
The President sent an American plane to Cuba to spy on the Soviet / Cuban activities but the plane was shot down and he’s not sure whether it was on purpose or by accident.
You and your team must infiltrate Fidel Castro’s palace and find out who was responsible for the American plane getting shot down. Complete the riddles, solve the clues, and get the intelligence so you can report to the President before Castro comes back to his palace.
This escape room is more of a family-friendly and beginner-style room. If you are a new player interested in starting to learn about escape rooms, Cuban Crisis in Las Vegas is one of the best places to start.
Escapology is one of the best escape room brands out there and is known for its detailed storylines, decor, and specific attention to detail within the rooms like props, furniture, and even sound effects.
On their website, they mention that they really want their customers to be immersed in the story and feel like they are actually in the location and timeframe where the story takes place.
Escapology houses nine different escape rooms, and Cuban Crisis is one of the easier ones in their portfolio. So if you like these escape rooms but need more of a challenge, they have plenty of different rooms and scenarios you can check out as well.

2. SAW Escape Las Vegas
You and your friends find yourselves trapped in the Egan & Company Meat Packing Plant by Jigsaw and his followers. It’s dark, it’s scary, and the only thing you have to do is combat your fears and escape alive.
The SAW Escape is one of the largest and most detailed escape games in the world. Based on the SAW horror movie franchise this adventure consists of multiple timed rooms, puzzles, and one of the most elaborate escape room sets found anywhere.
This room was voted the number one escape room in the country by USA Today! If you only have time for one escape room while you’re in Las Vegas, this is probably the one you’ll want to do.
You’ll have fun whether you’re familiar with the SAW movies or not but beware, this one’s not for the kids. Also, this room is extremely popular and you will need to make a reservation unless you have 10 people in your party you’re likely to be playing with others.
Finally, don’t pay full price! You can almost always find a Groupon discount here for this one that will save you money.
SAW Escape Room FAQ

Players: Up to 10 players
Fear Factor: Scary
Time Available: 60 Minutes

3. Ultimate Heist from Rush to Escape
You and your team have been hired by Dr. Olivia Snow to steal a man-made nano-virus. You learn that the virus is in a secure vault in Mason Industries. The company is run by the Free Masons who have sinister plans for the nano-virus.
No one has ever penetrated the vault before, and you’re aware that you’re going to need to break into a highly secure building.
This is one of the most active escape rooms I’ve ever seen. Without any spoilers, you’re given kneepads and Nerf guns, which you will be using throughout the 60 minutes. If you are looking for a very active escape room with tons of movement, then The Ultimate Heist is for you.
Climbing and crawling are required throughout the rooms, and it’s probably a good idea to wear something that you can move easily in. Let’s just say that this room requires movement and activity that can’t be done in fancy clothes.
Teamwork is also a big deal for this escape room, so make sure that you and your team have great chemistry. You can do this room with a maximum of four people but even a group of two can complete this mission.
This makes for a perfect date night for an active couple or a father/son activity on the weekend.

Ultimate Heist Escape Game FAQ
Company: Rush to Escape
Address: 953 E Sahara Ave Suite A-17, Las Vegas, NV 89123 (google maps)
Players: 2-4
Fear Factor: Low
Time Available: 60 Minutes
Difficulty: Moderate
Ages: Suitable for players 12 years and older
4. The Cabin from Number One Escape Room
You find yourself and your friends stumbling upon a small cabin in the woods. Your friends decide to go inside, and once night falls, you realize that it’s not just you and your friends in the house.
You decide to spend the night in the cabin and ride it out until the sun comes up.
Just from the description, you can tell that this is a different breed of an escape room than some of the other options. This escape room is more spooky than Ultimate Heist and Cuban Crisis. Once you enter, the atmosphere will feel like you’re in a cabin in the woods and have no way to escape except to find the clues.
With almost no light except for flashlights, this room can be kind of intimidating if you aren’t into frights and scares. This is probably the other one on this list that we wouldn’t recommend bringing small children to. There are also some sound effects that might cause you to jump throughout the game.
If you’re looking for an immersive feel in the escape room with probably the most tension on trying to escape, The Cabin (as well as SAW) is your best bet on this list. If you’re looking for a scare and more of a challenge, they have rooms that are rated at expert levels for you to try as well.

5. Red Riding Hood from Number One Escape Room
A new twist on an old story! Little Red Riding Hood has been implicated in a series of grim murders. It’s your job to take your team of private investigators through the woods and over to Grandma’s house to look for clues.
Did Red do these awful deads, or is she being framed by the Big Bad Wolf?
Other than the initial premise the fright factor is low on this one and makes for a good escape room for the whole family. There are plenty of creative puzzles and clues and the staff is always standing by to help you out a bit if you request it.
The room itself has a great design and contains very realistic (should I touch this?) props and the dark mood is set by the creepy music playing.

6. The Basement from The Basement
A serial killer named Edward Tandy has kidnapped you and your friends. He created a game to weed out the unintelligent and let those who are worthy of escaping move on before the rest are captured and “consumed.”
The Basement is unlike any other escape room on this list because it involves live actors in the rooms. These actors not only provide you with a more immersive experience, but they end up scaring you at points by adding drama and urgency to the storyline.
This might be the most well-themed room on this list and deservedly so. The actors make the situation seem so real, and you go through multiple rooms making it seem like you’re really progressing out of the basement.
One thing about this room is that the business tries to get ten people into each escape room they do. This is usually called public parties when it comes to escape rooms. Puzzle room veterans know that if you bring a group of 2-4 and someone else has a group of six, and you get paired up together, it does take away from the experience a little bit because one group tends to overshadow the other.
The Basement is one of the closest escape rooms to the Strip. If you’re staying on the north end by The Wynn, it’s less than two miles west on the other side of the highway.
